The Vancouver fashion scene is growing daily. New and exciting lines are released each season. Vancouver fashion designers produce runways shows and give local based photographers a chance to shoot look books print ads and catalogs.
BC fashion week and Vancouver fashion week provide excellent outlets and venues for Vancouver based fashion designers to show their new lines. The fashion community is somewhat smaller than that of Toronto but it is growing substantially and Vancouver is establishing it's own forward looking cosmopolitan west coast style.

The best fashion photographers from Canada use the many excellent outdoor backdrops that Vancouver has to offer. Winter outdoor shooting is also possible with the only detriment being some spells of heavy rain. Historic gastown offers some European type feel while the forest and mountain scapes give a distinct element of fresh nature. Beach type shoots are possible but in most cases renting a beach is the best way to go to ensure private shooting and ultimate control over the background.
Since there is a large film industry in Vancouver and surrounding areas, proper shooting permits are required for most locations. Fashion photo studios range from small to very large.
